It's ok to have dirty hands...JUST THIS ONCE!

Because he is his mother's son, Jake was hesitant at first to get his hands dirty when we were in San Rafael over the weekend for the Italian Street Painting Festival. My brother's firm participates every year (how many years have we been going to this thing?) and the amount of talent always amazes me year after year. These. people. can. draw! The 'artists' (or madonnaris as they are called)are sponsored by different companies as well as private citizens and all proceeds benefit the Youth in Arts. It's a neat way of spending a weekend, being around such talented people.

Jake had a blast - although the idea of getting his hands dirty with chalk was a bit nerve-wracking for my 'OC-in-the-works' little boy. I was thinking the husband was the one who was going to get on his knees to help the little boy with his 2x2 square, but I ended up doing it, thus ending up with dirty hands as well (you have no idea how nerve wracking THAT was for me!). As you can tell, Jake is not the product of artistic parents (ha!) but he had so much fun! For $10, he had his own square plus a box full of chalk.

The P Family spent a couple of nights with us last week since they are in between houses while waiting for their own house's construction to finish. It was so fun having them over and of course, Jake was just enjoying having Baby J over. This week, they are hoping that everything goes well and they finally get the keys, but in the meantime, we have our houseguests over again tonight and tomorrow.

We got together for brunch/pre-Father's Day celebration (as if we didn't see enough of each other the past week) at Il Fornaio in Burlingame on Sunday. That was fun - although it's a good thing that C and I shared the green apple juice and decided not to get one each because that thing was TART!!! The husbands enjoyed their steak (what's new) and 2 servings of tiramisu. Yum Yum!!! We walked around Burlingame Ave after brunch, and as the husbands said "walking only!!!" I still managed to walk out with a couple of things: a frame for FIL's Father's Day gift, as well as the Big Guy's gift.

The weather has been weird this week but it's supposed to warm up (re: HOT!) by the weekend, in time for Father's Day. Yippee! We can go swimming again!!

Toodles, people! Have a great week!
