"But Miss Jadeane..."
** EDIT **
It's 3:20pm, and my sister has Jake with her now. She decided to take him home with her when she got off so he wouldn't be at school until the Big Guy gets off work. My sister emailed me...
"I have Jake here with me right now and busy playing, as if he didnt play all day :). N said he'll be here on time. Amanda (the other teacher) said he just fell asleep shortly before we came at 2:30 hahaha! He ate all his food...and oh Mom....pack him watermelon tomorrow because he started eating his friend's lunch."
That's my boy!!!

My parents are on vacation this week and so Jake is at his 'back-up' school starting today. Preschool hasn't started for him yet and so he'll be at my sister's school in the meantime. The Big Guy dropped him off this morning, and last night while getting Jake's things ready, we were both concerned that Jake might not want to be left behind. Suffice it to say, as outgoing as our son is, he displays slow-to-warm up behavior at times and we were afraid that he would not want to stay in school, and Daddy to go.
But, as luck would have it, the husband called me after he left the school to say that Jake got there ready to socialize with the other kids, and was willingly letting Daddy leave him. My sister (who is a kindergarten teacher at the school) also came by to check in on him, and he told his nani to leave already :). Who would've thunk! Jake has the talent of throwing us off when we least expect it.
I just got an e-mail from my sister, who checked in on Jake with Miss Jadeane (the teacher) and she was told that our boy is having a great time, totally loving it and making friends fast. Oh, and one more thing - he likes to talk!!! No kidding - he's my child :)!!! At nap time, she asked him to lay down and Jake kept making excuses: "But Miss Jadeane, you have to tie my shoe lace"..."But Miss Jadeane I need you to do this, or that..." So I told my sister to just apologize to the teacher - Jake really tries his darndest to talk his way out of taking a nap ;).
I'm so relieved that he adjusted well in school today. Here's how the rest of his week will look like:
Monday - Animal Jump
** A jumper/bouncer will be set up in the playground
Tuesday - The San Jose Police Department's Mounted Unit will come and visit with their horses
Wednesday - Special Snack and Water Play
** Note to self: Bring his swim suit, towel and water shoes
Thursday - Bird Show
Friday - Pet Sharing Week
** Our newly acquired pet, Greggie the Hermit Crab, will make his appearance.
On a side note...
- We came back from our weekend stay in Monterey and albeit short, it was a lot of fun. Jake was in 7th Heaven from seeing Thomas up close and personal. I'll post pictures and recap our fun weekend tomorrow.
Have a great week! Toodles!
