I should probably just shoot myself now...

... but can we just have enough of this whole Teri Hatcher Desperate Housewives hoohaa?
Ok fine - she said something wrong. Get over it.
Since the episode aired a couple of weeks ago, there hasn't been a day that I don't get an email forwarded by a forwarded email 'urging' Filipinos to sign the petition, blea blea blea...

Get over it! It was a fictional character from a fictional show who said something inappropriate. Fine. But for the love of everything that is holy, get over it! If it was a public person holding public office saying something defaming, then FINE - go all gung ho about it but my goodness...

What happened to taking things light-heartedly? Isn't that one of the traits Filipinos are known for? If every freakin' person reacted to every freakin' thing said or printed or portrayed on tv - there will be no end.

I'm annoyed. Not by what happened in the show. But how OA everyone got about the whole thing. All of a sudden, the same people who walk around bleaching their hair blonde, and getting nose jobs and multi-colored contact lenses are going out there preaching to their fellow Pinoys to stand together and boycott ABC, and Desperate Housewives, etc... And what? Stop watching? Ok so would that make them so-called Filipinos-by-Convenience stop pretending like they are all about Pinoy Pride, but only when it's convenient for them?

On TV, it was said that the Philippine Government is "desperate" for Desperate Housewives apology. I'm not even gonna go there.... But then the funny thing is, an apology was already issued and YET IT'S STILL NOT ENOUGH? What the hell do you all want? Now, an article even demands a Filipino character integrated into the show. What the fuck are you all thinking?

Puh-lease!!!! And yeah, just to rub it in, Desperate Housewives (eventhough the story line isn't as good as it used to be) is still #1 on my DVR :). And no, I didn't sign the petition, and no I have no intentions to do so. I'm sure my name won't be missed. OH and um yeah, please remove me from your mailing list if all you're going to send is someone's forwarded forwarded email about this...

Oh.... and just to add salt to injury...
Why is it that no one makes any ruckus about the FOB Filipino list that David Letterman had on his show? That's just as bad, I think. Talk about stereotyping? And basically saying Filipinos are not good enough to be President of the United States? What about them apples?

Top 10 Reasons Why There Couldn’t Be a Filipino-American US President by David Letterman
10. The White House is not big enough for in-laws and extended relatives.
9. There are not enough parking spaces at the White House for 2 Honda Civics, 2 Toyota Land Cruisers, 3 Toyota Corollas, Mercedes Benz, BMW (Big Mean Wife), and MPV (My Pinoy Van).
8. Dignitaries generally are intimidated by eating with fingers at State dinners.
7. There are too many dining rooms in the White House - where will they put the Last Supper picture?
6. The White House walls are not big enough to hold a set of giant wooden spoon and fork.
5. Secret Service staff won’t respond to “pssst…pssst”.
4. Secret Service staff are uncomfortable driving the Presidential car with a Holy Rosary hanging on the rear view mirror or having the statue of the Santo Nino on the dashboard.
3. No budget allocation to purchase karaoke machines in every White House room.
2. State dinners do not allow “Take Home”.
AND THE NUMBER 1 REASON WHY THERE COULDN’T BE A FILIPINO-AMERICAN US PRESIDENT IS….
1. Air Force One does not allow overweight Balikbayan boxes!
