"It's long overdue but now.."

Philly's slammin'
Boyz II Men, ABC, BBD
The east coast family

Excuse the blur - I couldn't keep my hands steady long enough to take one decent picture.
I was too busy dancing and/or singing :)

The old farts went old school this weekend and watched our favorite group of all time - Boyz II Men.

Our BFF's, J and C came along with us to the middle of nowhere to watch our favorite group ever perform, 13 years after watching them live in concer at the San Jose Arena. Actually, the husband and I saw the group perform (we were at the same concert, with other people and didn't know each other then) and J and C have never seen them live in concert so when I heard that they will be in town, I thought it would be great to double it up and go.

It was meant to be a surprise 5-year anniversary gift to the husband and J and C were in on it, and during dinner C accidentally let the cat out of the bag which was totally fine. I just remember having a conversation with the husband that he wouldn't mind seeing them again if ever they were going to be in town. And so, tickets purchased and sitter arrangements made - off the married couples went to have a great time, enjoying music we love with the best company ever!!!

Those of you Boyz II Men fans might know that their bass singer, Mike is no longer part of the group so we were really interested to hear how the songs would sound without him being part of the group. There were definitely some songs wherein we were able to hear that something was missing, but overall, the whole show was just so wonderful! They sang our faves (On Bended Knee, End of the Road, Please Don't Go Away, Water Runs Dry, Four Seasons, etc...) as well as songs from their new album. Throughout the entire 1 1/2hr show, we sang along and knew the words to each and every song. It was truly a wonderful evening! The songs brought back memories - some good, some not so good, but what all four us agreed on was how wonderful we all felt thinking back on how we used to be at 19, 20 years old. To have literally grown up with the group's music, and still appreciate it 15 years later. We were saying that in 10 years, when Boyz II Men have their 25th year concert, we will all be in our early 40's and we will STILL go and watch them. Now we understand how our parents can relate to Tony Bennett, and Connie Francies, and Frank Sinatra, etc...

On the way to the concert, we had the songs playing from the playlist the husband put together. We tried to narrow down our favorite song ever, but it turned out to be too difficult and just decided we like them all, from Coolhighharmony in 1991, to Full Circle in 2002. After the concert on the way home, we STILL had the songs playing in the car and STILL sang along. To say that we're big fans turned out to be quite an understatement, for sure!

Anyway, the husband was the only one that has ever been to Cache Creek and so we decided to heat out early so we can have dinner there before catching the show. We ended up stopping by the outlets first and did some short, but major damage before heading out. C and I were focused on going in to the store to get a purse but with only 30mins given to us by the husbands to peruse the entire store, we hurriedly moved from one fixture to another trying so hard to narrow down our search. I 'thought' I would settle for a pair of black ballet shoes and tucked it under my arm, ready to pay. It's easier for me to spend on shoes that bags - I'm very picky when it comes to my handbags. C however has a collection of their handbags so all she was looking for was another silhoette to add. At the end of the half hour, we both ended up with jackets instead. The same black quilted jackets that we have been feaning for, for years!!! Both husbands thought it was a much better buy than a pair of shoes, or a handbag and we were both happy with what we ended up with for sure! The husband didn't score anything, but I was able to get Jake a pair of pants.

On the HOME front - we got our keys last Saturday and I'm just relieved that this whole ordeal is done! Now, the fun and hard parts begin! We have booked the movers, changed our contact info and transferred services. Now, we do the big move next weekend. I am just so pooped!!!

Have a good weekend people.
