It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas..
This week couldn't drag on any slower than it has.
And like I told the husband this morning - why does it seem like I had to literally yank myself out of bed every single morning.
The only thing that's making me last this whole week? Movie night at the P's tomorrow...yay!
Now that the weather is getting soo cold, to pry myself out of our warm, warm bed is almost like torture!
The little boy, who has been doing so good sleeping in his own room, has made his way back in our bed, for a while any way.
He doesn't like blankets and he manages to kick them off the bed, and because it's been really cold, we felt bad that he's in his bed alone.
We don't turn on the heater the whole night because then it gets hot then we start bitching that it's hot... But we are not about to leave the space heater in his room on the whole night either - so back to the family bed, it is.
He also started wearing footsies again - I just love it!
Last week was hectic albeit the short work week.
I think with Thanksgiving, post-Thanksgiving plus Baby Daddy's birthday - it got so exhausting after a while.
The husband did a wonderful job with Thanksgiving Dinner and I was pretty impressed with the turkey - moist just how I like it.
And here I was, afraid that our 13-pounder wasn't going to be enough with 17 people over for dinner. I'm glad we didn't go any bigger so we didn't end up with a lot of leftover turkey - just enough for soup the next day.
My family, the husband's parents, our family friends (who have been celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas with us for YEARS!) and my sister's friends joined us this year and the husband went all out with the food. What was more amazing was the abundance of dessert. It was crazy! The table was cleared after dinner and out came all of the pies and desserts and everything else. It was heavenly!! My dad brought the karaoke and it was nonstop until past midnight when the last of the people left. So much to be thankful for, and it was great to be able to celebrate with the people we love.
No - we didn't participate in the madness that is Black Friday. Oh wait - I lied! The husband did. Wii-llingly woke up at 5:30 am to go to Target, fall in line in the dead cold just to score a ticket for a Wii. By the time he got there, he was told that they were out of tickets and the store hasn't even opened!! He walked over to a game store and luckily enough scored one of the last tickets, and so by the time the store opened at 7, he got in, got the Wii and went home. We finally got up around 10 and got cracking on trying out his birthday toy. My nieces spent the day with us too and so all we did the whole day was stay in our pajamas and play Wii. My family came by for dinner to finish off the food from the night before and we celebrated the husband's birthday as well.
My Baby Daddy celebrated his 29th birthday (for the 5th time) on Saturday and we decided to have lunch at Spaghetti Factory in downtown with the kids in tow. We also called our BFF's to join us, at the husband's request. It was fun. We also managed to inhale 3 slices of mud pies on top of our pasta. CRRRazy! After late lunch, we dropped off the kids at my sister's (Jake was to spend the night with the girls) and the husband and I had a quiet night out, sans Jake. We wanted to go up to the city, but got lazy so we ended up at Burlingame and walked around before deciding to get stuff for the house at Pottery Barn. The second we walked in, we decided we wanted to change our Christmas decor so we started browsing. For years, we've had glass ornaments for our tree - a bit whimsical, a bit youthful. Now it felt like it didn't go along with the house so we wanted to change things a bit. And - we found these:
